Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Cornerstone Vision Services Ltd handles information when you use the Dropgaurd mobile application, website and related services.

Effective date: 1 August 2026 · Last updated: 1 August 2026

Pre-launch review required: This policy is drafted for a typical Firebase-based Dropgaurd implementation. Before publishing, remove any data type or service that the released app does not actually use and add any SDK or processing that it does use.

1. Who we are

Dropgaurd is operated by Cornerstone Vision Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16155793. Our registered office is 111 New Union Street, Coventry, CV1 2NT, United Kingdom.

For privacy questions or requests, contact SUPPORT_EMAIL_PLACEHOLDER.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the Dropgaurd app, this website and support communications. Dropgaurd provides reminders and organisational tools relating to visits to airport drop-off areas, clean-air charging areas and other supported charge zones.

4. How we obtain information

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your device when permitted, from the app store used for subscriptions, and from service providers that help us operate Dropgaurd.

5. How we use information

  • Provide, personalise and maintain Dropgaurd features.
  • Create zone-visit records and deliver reminders you request.
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts.
  • Respond to support and privacy requests.
  • Detect misuse, maintain security and diagnose faults.
  • Meet legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
  • Improve the app using aggregated or appropriately protected analytics.

6. Location data and background processing

Location data is treated as sensitive. Where Dropgaurd offers automatic zone detection or geofencing, the app will request the relevant operating-system permission and display an in-app explanation before collection begins. You can decline or withdraw location permission through your device settings, although location-based features may then stop working.

We do not use location data to sell profiles or for unrelated targeted advertising. The released app must clearly explain whether location is used while the app is open, in the background, or both.

7. Legal bases for UK and EEA users

Depending on the activity, we process information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, because you have given consent, because we have legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or because processing is required by law. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

8. Service providers and sharing

We may share limited information with service providers acting on our behalf. Depending on the final app configuration, these may include:

  • Google Firebase services, such as Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Crashlytics or Analytics.
  • Apple and Google Play for app distribution, subscriptions and purchase verification.
  • Hosting, communications and support providers used to operate the website or respond to users.
  • Professional advisers and authorities where reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal or sensitive user data. Dropgaurd is not affiliated with airport operators, local authorities, Transport for London or other charge-zone operators unless expressly stated.

9. International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use lawful safeguards such as adequacy regulations, contractual protections or other approved transfer mechanisms.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted network connections, access controls, authentication controls, restricted administrative access and service monitoring. No system is completely secure, and users should protect their sign-in credentials and devices.

11. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Account and journey data is generally retained while your account remains active. After account deletion, we aim to remove or anonymise associated data within a reasonable operational period, normally no later than 30 days, except where limited records must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute or accounting reasons. Backup copies may remain until normal backup cycles complete.

12. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your information, and to receive certain information in a portable form. You may also withdraw consent and complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

To make a request, email SUPPORT_EMAIL_PLACEHOLDER. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account.

13. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion inside the Dropgaurd app where that option is available or use our public account deletion page. Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your account.

14. Children

Dropgaurd is designed for licensed drivers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children.

15. Notifications

You can manage push notifications in Dropgaurd and in your device settings. Disabling notifications can prevent reminders from appearing. Dropgaurd cannot guarantee delivery because device settings, network conditions and operating-system restrictions may affect notifications.

16. Third-party websites and official operators

The app or website may link to external operator websites. Those services control their own information and privacy practices. Always verify charge rules, deadlines, exemptions and payment status directly with the official operator.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will publish the revised policy here, update the date above and provide additional notice where required.
